about the csa
Sweet Pea CSA partners with Garden of Eve farm in Riverhead, NY on the east end of Long Island. Your commitment to a local farm, as a CSA member, allows growers like Garden of Eve to maintain productive and profitable small farms and ensures the survival of local agriculture today and for future generations. As part of the Just Food network, the CSA also provides educational opportunities and events for members to learn more about working towards a just and sustainable food system in the New York City region. CSA members receive weekly or biweekly distributions of fresh, organic, local vegetables. Members can also choose to add fruit, eggs, flowers, cheese, and bread options! A typical vegetable share includes 7-8 items per week, with more in the summer and autumn than in the spring. Learn more about the food.
Sweet Pea CSA is an all-volunteer organization, which means that all members are required to volunteer their time at distributions to ensure that the CSA can operate. Learn more about being a member.
